Alice in Wonderland
a Deep Bridge Musical
My Role
For this project, I worked as both project lead and technical designer, guiding the process from tender phase to a fully installed musical set on site. I was responsible for the technical design, coordination and realisation of multiple set elements, including 3D-sculpted shapes, suspended and track-mounted printed panels, wooden picket fences and large rabbit-hole panels.
I translated the creative concept into CAD models and detailed technical drawings, which formed the technical basis for alignment with the client, suppliers and production teams. In addition, I designed the welded steel frames for several set pieces, ensuring they were safe for performers to sit on, mobile during the show.
Alongside the design work, I handled project coordination, including client communication and responsibility for budget, planning and quality control throughout the process. I programmed the 7-axis CNC robot to sculpt the majority of the EPS components, after which the parts were finished throughcoating and painting.
Together with the Concept Factory workshop team and specialised freelancers, I contributed hands-on to fabrication, assembly and finishing. I also coordinated the on-site installation.
Working across design, production and installation gave me valuable insight into translating complex designs into durable, real-world builds that meet both creative and practical requirements.
