Bright Nights Christmas Throne

Walibi Holland x Concept Factory

For this project, I designed and oversaw the production of a durable, transportable shelter for Santa’s throne, ensuring it was visually striking, functional, and could be used for multiple seasons. I translated the client’s brief and requirements into an aesthetic design and then into a fully detailed technical plan, including frames, panels, and material specifications. A key challenge was designing the structure for easy transport and assembly without requiring special logistics, which I coordinated closely with the client.

I collaborated with sculptors, painters, and welders, providing all necessary technical files and work preparation for each team member. I also personally contributed to fabrication, including cutting, gluing, assembling, and painting components, while directing and supporting the workshop team. I managed material procurement and coordinated with suppliers to select the appropriate paints and finishes.

The on-site assembly was a particularly valuable experience: together with one colleague and in close collaboration with the client, I built and finished the throne, gaining firsthand insight into how a modular structure is transported, assembled, and finalized on location. This project gave me hands-on experience in combining creative design, practical fabrication, and real-world installation, delivering a visually impressive and operationally practical outcome.
